The Ministry of Civil Aviation (which means naagar vimaanan mantraalay in Hindi) is a very important part of the Indian government. Its main job is to create rules and plans for how civil aviation works in India. Civil aviation means all the flying that isn't for the military, like passenger flights and cargo planes.
The Ministry helps air travel grow in an organized way across the country. It also looks after airports, manages air traffic, and makes sure people and goods can travel safely by air. They are also in charge of making sure the Aircraft Act, 1934 and Aircraft Rules, 1937 are followed. Plus, they oversee the Commission of Railway Safety, which investigates train accidents.
