Minju Kim grew up in Seoul, South Korea. As a teenager, she lived and studied in New Zealand. She first dreamed of going to art school to become a cartoonist. In 2020, Minju Kim became the winner of Next In Fashion. This was a reality show and fashion design competition on Netflix. She won against British designer Daniel Fletcher in the final. During the team part of the competition, she worked with Chinese designer Angel Chen. They called themselves 'Dragon Princess'. As the winner, Minju Kim received US$250,000 from Net-a-Porter.
