Sebastião Miranda da Silva Filho, known as Mirandinha, is a former Brazilian football player. He was born on February 26, 1952. Mirandinha played as a forward, which means he was mainly responsible for scoring goals. He was also part of the Brazilian team that played in the 1974 FIFA World Cup.
Playing for Clubs
Mirandinha started his football journey in Brazil. In 1978, he moved from São Paulo to the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the North American Soccer League (NASL). The NASL was a major soccer league in North America at that time.
During that season, the Rowdies reached the championship game, called Soccer Bowl '78. They played against the New York Cosmos. Mirandinha scored the only goal for the Rowdies in their 3–1 loss. He also scored five goals in five games during the team's short indoor soccer season in 1979. He started the 1979 season with Tampa Bay before moving to the Memphis Rogues in June 1979.
Playing for Brazil
Mirandinha played for the Brazilian national team at the 1974 FIFA World Cup. He played in four matches during the tournament. He started one game, which was a 0–0 tie against Scotland. He also came on as a substitute in two other games.
