Who Designed the Mirante do Vale?
The building was designed by an architect named Waldomiro Zarzur. He worked with an engineer named Aron Kogan to make sure the building was strong and safe. Construction started in 1959 and was completed very quickly, by 1960. However, it was officially opened to the public in 1966.
Mirante do Vale's Tallest Status
When the Mirante do Vale was completed in 1960, it became the tallest building in Brazil. It held this record for 12 years! In 1972, another building called the Coltejer Building in Colombia became the tallest in South America. The Mirante do Vale is still one of the most famous and important skyscrapers in São Paulo.
