Discover the World of Mirmo!
The story of Mirmo de Pon! is about a magical world and a human girl's wishes. It mixes fantasy with romantic comedy. Get ready to meet fairies, human friends, and even some mischievous villains!
Meet the Main Characters
The main character is a love fairy named Mirmo. In the Japanese version, his name is Mirumo. He is a prince from the fairy world.
Then there's Katie Minami, or Kaede Minami in Japanese. She's a cheerful and energetic eighth-grader. Katie is a bit shy around boys, which makes dating tricky for her.
How Mirmo Appears
One day, Katie finds a mysterious blue cocoa mug in a shop. When she gets home, she sees a message at the bottom of the mug. It says that if she reads it aloud while pouring hot cocoa, a "muglox" (a love fairy) will appear. This fairy will grant her wishes!
Katie is a little unsure, but she tries it. She wishes to date Dylan Yuki (Setsu Yuuki in Japanese), her crush. Suddenly, Mirmo appears! At first, Katie is scared, but she soon learns that Mirmo is a muglox. However, Mirmo loves eating chocolate and causing trouble more than helping Katie with her wishes!
Adventures in the Fairy World
Mirmo is actually a prince who ran away from his world. He didn't want to marry Rima (Rirumu in Japanese), his princess bride-to-be. But Rima, along with Yatch (Yashichi) the bounty hunter, and Mulu (Murumo), Mirmo's brother, follow him to the human world. Many other muglox fairies also show up!
The first season's villains are the Warumo gang. They are a group of criminals who want to take over the Marumo kingdom. Even though they are villains, they mostly play childish pranks. They often faint when they hear a truly evil plan!
At the end of the first season, the Warumo Gang accidentally freezes the muglox world. Mirmo, Mulu, Rima, Yatch, and their human partners work together. They save the fairy world by dancing and finding a magic time bird.
New Challenges and Magic
In the second season, a new student named Saori joins Katie's school. A villain called Darkman, born from dark human feelings, tries to come back to life. He influences Akumi and the Warumo gang.
This season introduces "session magic," where two people combine their powers. Darkman controls Saori and uses her flute to control people's feelings. Golden Mirmo, created by three-person session magic, defeats him. Later, with more powerful magic, Saori defeats Darkman for good. The two worlds (human and fairy) are separated but then reunited by the strong friendship between the mugloxes and their partners. Saori then goes to Germany to study music, with Akumi as her new fairy partner.
The Quest for Crystals
The third season features a robot octopus named Tako. He convinces the group to search for seven legendary crystals. Each crystal is drawn out by a different emotion. After collecting them all, the gang faces seven trials. Mirmo must pass these tests for the crystals to form a pendant.
Tako then steals the pendant to save his girlfriend and his land. In the end, the friends succeed, and Tako becomes the king of Crystal Land.
Love and Friendship Grow
In the fourth season, two new characters appear: Koichi and Haruka. Koichi likes Katie, and Haruka is Dylan's childhood friend who wants to be a cartoonist. Haruka's fairy partner is Panta, a ghost muglox.
Many things happen with love in this season! Koichi confesses his feelings to Katie. Dylan starts to fall for Katie too. Haruka realizes Dylan's true love is Katie and steps aside. Finally, Dylan tells Katie he loves her, and they become a couple! Katie's original wish comes true.
However, Mirmo must leave soon, or something bad will happen. The Warumo gang causes trouble, and Mirmo loses his memories of Katie, turning into a rabbit. Katie helps him get his memories back, and he returns to normal.
