Mithi is a city in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It is the main city and administrative center of Tharparkar District. Mithi became the district headquarters in 1990. This happened after the area separated from Mirpur Khas District.
Mithi is special because it is one of the few cities in Pakistan where Hindus make up most of the population. About 80% of the people in Mithi are Hindu. Both Hindu and Muslim communities live together peacefully here.

The coal project is getting financial help from China. This is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). CPEC is a big plan to connect China and Pakistan with new roads and projects. Around 3,000 Chinese experts are expected to come to Mithi. They will help local workers operate the heavy machinery. New roads, basic facilities, and homes for workers are being built.
