Mo Heart, whose real name is Kevin Leandrew Richardson, is a famous American drag queen, TV star, and music artist. She was born on May 22, 1986. Mo Heart is best known for being on the TV show RuPaul's Drag Race. She competed in its tenth season, then on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars (season four), and later on RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World (series one).
Since 2018, Mo Heart has also appeared in many online shows and hosted her own podcast called Ace of Hearts with Monique Heart. She released her first song, "Brown Cow Stunning," in 2019, and her first album, Beloved SoS 6.3, in 2020.
Early life
Kevin Richardson was born on May 22, 1986, in Long Island, New York. He grew up in different parts of Long Island, including Roosevelt, New York and Freeport, New York. He also spent time in Bedford-Stuyvesant with his father. Kevin moved to Virginia in 2000. After high school, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he studied the Bible at the International House of Prayer University.
Career highlights
Kevin Richardson started his drag career with the name Monique Heart in 2011. He performed at a place called Hamburger Mary's, where he hosted bingo games and Sunday drag brunches. Before becoming Monique Heart, he thought about other names like Ariana Styles and Jiz Zonra.
Mo Heart first tried out for RuPaul's Drag Race in its eighth season but didn't get on the show. Two years later, she tried again for the tenth season and was chosen! She almost quit drag before being accepted, but she decided to keep going. On season 10, she finished in eighth place.
Later, Mo Heart was a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars season four. Even though she didn't win any challenges on her first season, she won three main challenges on All Stars. She made it to the Top 4 and ended up as a runner-up. Famous people like Rihanna and Lizzo have even quoted her catchphrases from the show!
Mo Heart also appeared on RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race, a show where drag queens help celebrities transform into drag queens. She performed in a live drag show called the Nubia Tour, which featured Black drag queens. She also starred in her own online show called Manic Moments with Monique Heart.
In 2021, Mo Heart performed at the It Gets Better: A Digital Pride Experience. She also hosted her own podcast, Ace of Hearts with Monique Heart. She hosted The Walk In, a fashion TV series for Amazon Music, where she talked to celebrities about their famous outfits. Some of her guests included Lil Nas X and Rico Nasty. Mo Heart also has her own beauty company called MoBeauty.
In 2022, Mo Heart competed on RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World. For this show, she changed her drag name from Monique Heart to just Mo Heart. She explained that she wanted to grow as an artist and give "more heart, more love, more everything." She finished as the runner-up on the show.
Music releases
Mo Heart performed her first song, "Brown Cow Stunning," on the first episode of RuPaul's Drag Race: All-Stars. The song and its music video came out on January 4, 2019. She also appeared in a music video for "Soak It Up" by fellow drag queen Monét X Change. In September, she released another song called "SUKM (Kiss Me)". This song was part of her album, Beloved SoS 6.3, which was released in 2020. She also released another album called Redemption in 2022.
Personal life
Kevin Richardson moved to Los Angeles in 2019. As of 2021, he lives in Palm Springs.
