History of Modjeska Canyon
Modjeska Canyon is named after a famous person from the past. Her name was Helena Modjeska. She was a stage actress from Poland. Helena Modjeska moved to the canyon in the late 1800s.

During the Bond Fire, Modjeska Canyon was one of the first places to be evacuated. This was because the fire started very close by, in Silverado Canyon.
