Mohamed Abdullaziz Al-Deayea Al-Shammari (born August 2, 1972) is a famous former Saudi Arabian football player. He was a fantastic goalkeeper. Mohamed played for the Saudi Arabia national team in four different FIFA World Cup tournaments. He is known for playing in 173 official international matches for his country.
Al-Deayea played for two main clubs: al-Tai FC and al-Hilal SFC. Many people think he is one of the best goalkeepers in the history of Saudi Arabian sports.

Mohamed Al-Deayea's Early Life and Club Journey
Mohamed Al-Deayea was born in Hail, Saudi Arabia. His family loved sports. When he was eight years old, he started as a handball goalkeeper for al-Tai FC. But then, a coach suggested he try football. He joined al-Tai SFC's junior football team in 1988.
Becoming a Young Star
Mohamed quickly showed how good he was. He earned a spot on the Saudi junior national team. With this team, he won the FIFA U-16 World Championship in Scotland in 1989. This was a huge achievement for a young player! He then moved up to the youth national team. By 1993, he was playing for the senior Saudi national team.
Playing for Top Clubs
Al-Deayea was a key player when the national team qualified for the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States. He played very well in that tournament. In 1999, a big club called al-Hilal SFC signed him. He played as their goalkeeper until he retired in 2010. This meant he had a football career that lasted 22 years!
Mohamed spent his professional career with Al-Ta'ee and Al-Hilal. His older brother, Abdullah, was also a famous goalkeeper who won the AFC Asian Cup. Because of his brother, Mohamed felt a lot of pressure to be good when he first started playing.
Mohamed Al-Deayea's Retirement from Football
On June 22, 2010, Mohamed Al-Deayea announced he was retiring from football. He was 37 years old. To celebrate his amazing career, a special match was held on January 5, 2012. His club, Al-Hilal, played against the famous Italian team Juventus.
The Farewell Match
About 70,000 fans came to the King Fahd Stadium to watch this special game. Juventus won the match 7–1. Saad Al-Harthi scored the only goal for Al-Hilal. The goals for Juventus were scored by Alessandro Del Piero (who scored twice), Eljero Elia, Arturo Vidal, Giorgio Chiellini, Simone Pepe, and Fabio Quagliarella. It was a big event to honor a true football legend.
