Moldovița is a special kind of local area in northeastern Romania, called a commune. It is found in Suceava County, a region known as Bukovina.
A commune is like a small district that includes several villages. Moldovița commune is made up of four villages: Argel, Demăcușa, Moldovița, and Rașca. It's a beautiful area with lots of nature.
People and Languages in Moldovița
Moldovița is home to many people with different backgrounds. In 2002, about 5,021 people lived here. Most of them were Romanians, making up about 95% of the population.
There are also smaller groups of Ukrainians and Germans. Over time, the number of Romanians has grown, while the number of Ukrainians and Germans has become smaller compared to the past.
When it comes to languages, most people in Moldovița speak Romanian. In 2002, about 96% of the people spoke Romanian at home. A smaller group, about 3% of the population, spoke Ukrainian.
How Moldovița is Governed
Every commune in Romania has a local council that helps run things. This council is made up of people chosen by the community in elections. They make decisions about local services and how the commune is managed.
The current local council of Moldovița has members from different political groups. The National Liberal Party (PNL) has the most members. Other parties, like the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), PRO Romania (PRO), Social Democratic Party (PSD), and People's Movement Party (PMP), also have members on the council. They all work together to make Moldovița a good place to live.
