Mondovi (pronounced mon-DOH-vee) is a city in Wisconsin, United States. It's located along the Buffalo River in Buffalo County. In 2010, about 2,777 people lived here. The city is mostly surrounded by the larger Town of Mondovi. A small part is also next to the Town of Naples.

History of Mondovi
Mondovi got its name in honor of the Battle of Mondovì. A post office opened here in 1854. The city itself was officially planned out in 1855.
Geography and Location
Mondovi is located at coordinates 44.568865 degrees North and -91.669634 degrees West.
The city covers a total area of about 3.91 square miles (10.13 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 3.82 square miles (9.90 square kilometers), is land. The remaining 0.09 square miles (0.23 square kilometers) is water.

Mondovi experiences a range of temperatures throughout the year. Summers are warm, while winters can be very cold with a lot of snow. The city gets a good amount of rain, especially in the spring and summer months.

Mondovi in 2010: A Closer Look
In 2010, the city had 2,777 people living in 1,194 households. About 722 of these were families. The city had about 727 people per square mile.
Most residents (96.7%) were White. Other groups included African American, Native American, and Asian people. About 1.4% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.
Many households (32.1%) had children under 18. About 42.6% were married couples. The average household had 2.26 people, and families averaged 2.89 people.
The average age in Mondovi was 39.9 years. About 24.2% of residents were under 18. About 20% were 65 or older. There were slightly more females (53.7%) than males (46.3%).
Education in Mondovi
The School District of Mondovi is dedicated to student learning. It includes three main schools for different age groups.
Mondovi School District: Learning for All Ages
The elementary school teaches children from pre-school up to 5th grade. The middle school is for students in grades 6 to 8. High school students attend grades 9 through 12.
In the 2013-2014 school year, 966 students were enrolled. Class sizes are kept small, especially for younger students. There are many teachers and support staff to help students learn.
The main school buildings are in the city of Mondovi. Another building, Anthony School, is about eight miles north. Younger students (Early Childhood and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten) go to Anthony School. Older students attend the city complex.
The city school complex has great facilities for students. These include an outdoor swimming pool and a distance learning center. There's also a fine arts area for performances. For sports, there are three indoor athletic areas and a weight room. Outside, students can use renovated tennis courts, a running track, and fields for football, baseball, and softball.

Mondovi offers many places to enjoy nature and stay active.
Buffalo River State Trail: Explore Nature
The Buffalo River State Trail goes right through Mondovi. This trail is 36.4 miles long. It's a safe and beautiful place for many activities. You can go snowmobiling, horseback riding, or ride ATVs. It's also great for hiking and biking. The trail passes through farms, woods, hills, and marshland. It also follows the Buffalo River. Other trails like the Red Cedar State Trail are also nearby.
Joseph Peterson Arboretum: A Natural Spot
The Joseph Peterson Arboretum is a 10-acre natural area. It's a peaceful place to visit. Nearby, there's a public park with two volleyball courts and playground equipment. There's also a picnic shelter for gatherings.

Mirror Lake Park: Scenic Views and Fishing
Mirror Lake Park offers beautiful views of Mondovi's Mirror Lake. It has playground equipment and picnic areas. There are also shelters for picnics. A public boat landing is available for boats. An accessible fishing pier makes it easy for everyone to enjoy fishing or the view.
Sharps Point Park: A Place to Remember
Sharps Point Park is home to the Mondovi Veteran's Memorial. It's located right along the banks of Mirror Lake.
Tourist Park: Camping and History
Tourist Park has six campsites. These are available first-come, first-served. The campsites have electricity and water hook-ups. There's also a place to empty waste from RVs during weekdays. The park has two shelters you can reserve for special events. One of these is a historic log cabin. Tourist Park also has a museum on site that is open to the public.
