Monetta is a small town located in South Carolina, United States. It is special because it sits across two different counties: Aiken County and Saluda County.
In 2020, about 205 people lived in Monetta. The part of Monetta in Aiken County is considered part of the larger Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area. The part in Saluda County is part of the Columbia, SC Metropolitan Area.
Geography
Monetta is found near the southern edge of Saluda County and the northern edge of Aiken County. A major road, U.S. Route 1, goes right through the town. This road connects Monetta to Batesburg-Leesville and then Columbia, which is the state capital. It also goes southwest to Aiken.
The town covers a total area of about 1.9 square kilometers (or 0.73 square miles). All of this area is land, with no water.

Education
Students in Monetta attend schools that are part of the Aiken County Public School District.
The main secondary school for the area is Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle-High School. Even though it has a Monetta mailing address, the school building is actually just outside the town limits.
Younger students in the Monetta area, including those in Saluda County, go to Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary School. After elementary school, they move on to Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle-High School.
