Monster Rancher EVO (called Monster Farm 5: Circus Caravan in Japan) is an exciting PlayStation 2 video game. It's part of the popular Monster Rancher game series. This game first came out in Japan on December 8, 2005. It then arrived in North America on April 13, 2006.

Playing the Game
Monster Rancher EVO is a mix of a life simulation and a role-playing game (RPG). In an RPG, you play as a character and go on adventures. In this game, you play as a young circus performer named Julio. He wants to become the best monster breeder in the world!
Every week, you'll meet with the circus leader. You'll plan what Julio and his monsters will do. You can schedule exciting circus shows, go on adventures, or train your monsters.
Getting New Monsters
Just like in other Monster Rancher games, you can get new monsters in special ways! A girl named Nayuta, who has magical powers, helps you. She uses a magical dance to bring monsters to life from your game discs or other items. She can also "reseal" them into "disc stones" if you want to store them.
If you don't have many discs, you can visit the Monster Market. There, you can pick up free disc stones to get new monsters. You can also combine monsters, and your original monsters won't disappear! Many monster types from older games are back, plus some new ones. There are 25 main types of monsters in total.
Monster Shows and Adventures
Your monsters can put on shows using special training tools. If the audience loves the show, they will throw money onto the stage! This helps you earn money for the circus.
You can also go exploring with your monsters. This is similar to Monster Rancher 4. You'll go out into different areas with your monster(s). You'll fight wild monsters and bigger "boss" monsters. When you win, you earn "anima points." You can use these points to teach your monsters new skills or do powerful "union attacks" together.
Game Look and Feel
The art style in Monster Rancher EVO is more detailed and realistic than earlier games. The human characters look more natural, not as much like cartoons. The monsters in this game look similar to those in Monster Rancher 4. They move very smoothly, which makes the game feel more real and fun to play.
Game Story
The story is about the Orcoro Circus. This group of people travels around to make others happy. Julio, a young boy in the circus, dreams of becoming a famous monster breeder. One day, after a show, a mysterious girl named Nayuta joins the circus. She has special powers.
Talking to other characters in the game is important for moving the story forward. There are seven towns you can visit, and each one has its own problems. In each village, you'll find a "guild." At the guild, Julio can accept missions from the guildmaster. These missions are set by the villagers who need help. When you complete missions, you can earn gold, useful items, and even rare monsters!
