A Look Back in Time
Long ago, Monta Vista was covered with fruit orchards and vineyards. Farmers grew many different crops here.
After the 1940s, things started to change. Monta Vista became one of the first areas in Cupertino to build many homes. Soon, houses replaced the farms.
When Cupertino officially became a city in 1955, Monta Vista decided not to join at first. It remained a part of Santa Clara County. Over the years, Cupertino slowly added parts of Monta Vista to its city limits. By 2004, the entire neighborhood officially became part of Cupertino.
