About Montreal Lake

Where is Montreal Lake?

The lake sits at an elevation of 447 meters (about 1,467 feet) above sea level. It is located on the north side of a community called Island Lake. You can find it in the vast wilderness of northern Ontario.

The Montreal River's Journey

The main river that flows out of Montreal Lake is the Montreal River. This river starts at the eastern end of the lake. From there, the Montreal River flows all the way to Lake Superior. It reaches Lake Superior near a place called Montreal River Harbour. This journey connects the small lake to one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world.
