Career Journey
Becoming a Trainee
Moon met a talent agent at a dance competition. This agent later called him for an audition. He danced to a song by the American singer Usher. He found out he was accepted on his way home. In August of his first year in high school, he became a trainee at TS Entertainment. He trained for a long time before debuting, second only to his bandmate Yongguk.
Time with B.A.P
Moon Jong-up was announced as a member of the K-pop group B.A.P on January 17, 2012. He was a sub-vocalist and one of the main dancers.
The group officially started their career nine days later. Their first album was called Warrior.
In November 2014, B.A.P had some problems with their company. The members wanted to change their contracts. They felt the conditions and how profits were shared were not fair. In August 2015, the group and the company worked things out. B.A.P then continued their music activities with TS Entertainment.
Moon performed his first solo song, "Try My Luck," during B.A.P's 2017 World Tour 'Party Baby!'. This song was released as part of a project album with fellow member Daehyun on June 8, 2017.
In 2018, two members, Yongguk and Zelo, left the group. Moon and the remaining three members also left the company in February 2019. This led to B.A.P no longer being active as a group. After B.A.P disbanded, Moon took a six-month break from music.
