Like other parts of Visalia, some wealthier areas of Mooney, such as Beverly Glen, are found within mini Oak Woodlands. Closer to Mooney Grove Park, the area is mostly used for agriculture.

Mooney Boulevard Improvement Project

There's a big project happening to make traffic better on State Route 63, also known as Mooney Boulevard. This project will make the road wider. It will change the four-lane highway into a six-lane divided highway. This change will happen between Packwood Creek and Noble Avenue.

The goal is to reduce traffic jams on local streets. It will help cars move more smoothly. This means less time stuck in traffic and safer roads for drivers. As part of the project, new turn lanes will be added at busy intersections. These include Caldwell, Tulare, Orchard, and Beech Avenues. Also, twenty bus stops will be built along the road. After the construction, new trees and plants will be added in the middle of the road.

Mooney Grove Park: A Community Hub

Mooney's Grove Park is a large park located east of Mooney Boulevard. People use it for many activities every day. It's a popular spot for parties and sports events. The park even has a professional Disc Golf course called the Perry Championship Disc Golf Course.

Inside the park, you can find a special statue. It shows a Native American cavalry soldier. This statue is a copy of a famous sculpture by James Earle Fraser. It has become an important symbol for Native Americans across the country. The original sculpture was shown at the San Francisco World Fair in 1915. Later, Tulare County bought it and had it made into a strong bronze landmark.
