Career in Television and Gaming
Morgan Webb grew up in Los Angeles and went to the UC Berkeley from 1996 to 2000. While in college, she learned a lot about computers. After graduating, she worked for an internet company as a website administrator. When that company closed, her friend helped her get a job at the television channel TechTV in 2001.
Working at TechTV and G4
At TechTV, Webb first worked behind the scenes on the show The Screen Savers. Soon, she began appearing on camera, co-hosting a show called Call for Help. In April 2003, she became a co-host of X-Play with Adam Sessler. X-Play was a popular show that reviewed and discussed video games.
In 2004, TechTV merged with another channel, G4. Many people lost their jobs, but Webb and Sessler stayed to continue hosting X-Play. For a long time, Webb was one of the most well-known personalities on the G4 channel.
Other Projects and Shows
While hosting X-Play, Webb also worked on other projects. She wrote a monthly column about video games for a popular men's magazine. In her column, "Tips from the Gaming Goddess," she answered questions from readers about how to beat their favorite games.
From 2007 to 2009, Webb created a daily video blog called WebbAlert. In short videos, she talked about the latest news in technology. She sometimes made special episodes about topics like interesting new inventions or fun videos from the internet.
In 2009, she also began hosting a new G4 show called G4 Underground. This show explored interesting people and topics popular with the "internet generation."
X-Play was on the air for a long time and made over 1,300 episodes. The final episode was shown on January 23, 2013.
Life After G4
After X-Play ended, Webb continued to be involved in the gaming world. In June 2013, she co-hosted Microsoft's live coverage of the E3 gaming convention on Xbox Live. She also worked as an advisor for the major game company Activision Blizzard. There, she hosted a show about the popular game World of Warcraft.
In September 2017, Webb announced that she had joined Bonfire Studios, an independent game developer. She helps with community management and other tasks at the studio.
Personal Life
When Webb was a baby, she appeared in TV commercials for Gerber baby food and McDonald's. Even though her parents didn't let her watch much TV, she loved playing video games. She started with an Atari console and especially liked the game Combat. As she got older, her favorite games included The Legend of Zelda and Phantasy Star.
After high school, Webb went to college at UC Berkeley. She studied rhetoric, which is the art of public speaking and writing, and also studied Italian. She graduated in 2000.
On August 19, 2006, Webb married author Rob Reid.
Webb is also a fan of the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. She has played in live games for the web series Acquisitions Incorporated at events like the PAX West gaming festival.
Media Appearances

Webb has been featured in several magazines over the years. She has also appeared on many talk shows, including The Tyra Banks Show and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. She was often a guest co-host on another G4 show, Attack of the Show!.
In 2008, Webb and her X-Play co-host Adam Sessler played in a celebrity softball game at Dodger Stadium.
