Moses Denson (born July 6, 1944) is a former American football player. He was a talented running back, which is a player who carries the ball and tries to run past the other team to score. Moses Denson played for teams in both the National Football League (NFL) in the United States and the Canadian Football League (CFL) in Canada.

Early Life and College Football

Moses Denson was born on July 6, 1944. He grew up in Vredenburgh, Alabama. For his high school years, he attended South High School in Akron, Ohio.

After high school, Denson went on to play college football at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Playing college sports is a big step for many athletes, and it helps them get ready for professional leagues.

Professional Football Career

Moses Denson had an exciting career playing professional football. He played in two different major leagues.

Playing in the CFL

Denson spent three seasons playing for the Montreal Alouettes, a team in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The CFL is a professional football league in Canada, similar to the NFL in the United States but with slightly different rules.

During his time in the CFL, Moses Denson was recognized as a top player. He was named a CFL All-Star twice, in 1970 and 1972. This means he was considered one of the best players in his position in the entire league.

Grey Cup Victory (1970)

One of the biggest moments of his career was winning the Grey Cup in 1970. The Grey Cup is the championship game of the CFL, much like the Super Bowl in the NFL. In that game, Moses Denson made a very important play. He threw a pass for a touchdown to his teammate, Ted Alflen. This play was a "broken-play," meaning it didn't go exactly as planned, but it still worked out perfectly and helped the Alouettes win the championship!

Playing in the NFL

After his time in Canada, Moses Denson also played in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 1972. He played for the Redskins during the 1974 and 1975 seasons. The NFL is the most popular professional football league in the United States.

Moses Denson's career shows how players can succeed in different leagues and make a big impact on their teams.
