Mosier is a small city in Oregon, United States. It is located along the Columbia River in Wasco County. In 2010, about 433 people lived there. By 2020, the population grew to 468.

History of Mosier

Mosier was first settled in 1854. It officially became a city in 1914. The building that is now the post office used to be a bank. You can still see the original safe inside!

The Mosier School was built in 1920. For many years, it taught students from first grade all the way to twelfth grade. Later, it became an elementary school for younger kids. In 2003, it changed again to become a special kind of school called Mosier Community School.

In 2016, a train carrying oil had an accident near Mosier. Some of the train cars went off the tracks. One of them caught fire. This happened very close to the city's water treatment building.

Geography and Climate

Mosier covers a total area of about 0.64 square miles (1.64 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, and a small part is water.

Just half a mile downstream from the city, there is an island called Eighteenmile Island. It is located in the Columbia River.
