Mostafa Kamal Madbouly was born on April 28, 1966. He is an important Egyptian politician. He is currently the 54th prime minister of Egypt. The President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, chose him for this big job. Before becoming prime minister, Mr. Madbouly was the Minister of Housing. He even served as acting prime minister for a short time.

Mostafa Madbouly's Career
Mostafa Madbouly studied at Cairo University. He earned his master's degree in 1988. Later, he received his PhD in 1997. Both degrees were from the Faculty of Engineering.
Early Work in Housing
Mr. Madbouly began his career at the government's Housing and Building National Research Center (HBRC). This center focuses on housing and building research. He became the director of the Training and Urban Studies Institute there.
Planning Cities
From September 2009 to November 2011, Mr. Madbouly led the General Organisation for Physical Planning (GOPP). This group helps plan how cities and towns grow. It works with the Ministry of Housing.
Helping Arab Countries
From November 2012 to February 2014, he worked for the United Nations Human Settlements Program. He was the regional director for Arab countries. This program helps people have better places to live.
Minister of Housing
In March 2014, Mostafa Madbouly became the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities. He took over from Ibrahim Mahlab. He continued in this role when Sherif Ismail became prime minister in September 2015.
As housing minister, he managed a huge project. This was the Social Housing Project. It aimed to build a million homes for people. He also led the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). This is Egypt's biggest real estate developer. NUCA builds and manages new cities. He oversaw big projects like the New Administrative Capital.
Acting Prime Minister
In November 2017, Mr. Madbouly became acting prime minister. This happened when Sherif Ismail went to Germany for medical care.
Mostafa Madbouly as Prime Minister

On June 7, 2018, President Sisi chose Mostafa Madbouly to be the new prime minister. He replaced Sherif Ismail. On June 9, Prime Minister Madbouly changed some ministers in the government. Eight new ministers were appointed. The Egyptian Parliament agreed to his new list of ministers.
On June 10, it was announced that eight women would be in his new government. This was more than any previous government. On June 14, Mr. Madbouly and his cabinet officially started their work. He also kept his job as Housing Minister for a while.
On July 3, 2018, Prime Minister Madbouly shared his government's plans with the Egyptian parliament. He said that 85% of their economic reform plan was complete. The parliament then reviewed his plans. On July 25, 2018, the Egyptian parliament approved his government and its plans.
