Ibrahim Roshdy Mahlab (born on May 8, 1949) is an Egyptian engineer and politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Egypt from March 2014 to September 2015. Before that, he was the Minister of Housing.

Ibrahim Mahlab's Career

Early Career and Leadership
Ibrahim Mahlab started his career as an engineer. He joined a company called Arab Contractors. He worked hard and moved up in the company. By the 1990s, he became the deputy CEO. In 2001, he became the CEO of the company.
Role in Government
In 2010, Mahlab was chosen to be a member of the Shura Council. This was a part of the Egyptian Parliament. He was also a member of the Policies Committee. This was for the National Democratic Party.
Mahlab left his role as CEO of Arab Contractors in 2012. In 2013, after a change in government, he was appointed as the Minister of Housing.
Becoming Prime Minister
The Prime Minister at the time, Hazem el-Beblawi, resigned. After this, Ibrahim Mahlab was asked to form a new government. He said his team would work to make Egypt safe again. He also promised to fight against terrorism. He wanted to help rebuild the country's economy. The day after he became Prime Minister, he said that safety was the most important thing. He asked people to stop protests and strikes.
As Prime Minister, he worked with important leaders. This included the head of the Egyptian Coptic Church, Pope Tawadros II. He was reappointed as Prime Minister in June 2014. He resigned in September 2015. However, his government stayed in place until a new one was formed.

Ibrahim Mahlab is married. He can speak several languages. These include Arabic, English, French, and Portuguese.
