Story of Motorcity
This exciting show takes place in a future version of Detroit. The city is now called Detroit Deluxe and it's a huge metropolis built high above the old city. The evil billionaire Abraham Kane (Mark Hamill) owns Detroit Deluxe. He rules the people with strict laws and has even banned personal cars.
But Kane faces a challenge from a group of rebels who love hot rods, called the Burners. Their leader is Mike Chilton (Reid Scott), who used to be one of Kane's cadets. The Burners fight to protect Motorcity, an underground place that is the last free area in Detroit.
Meet the Characters
The Heroes: The Burners
The Burners are a brave group of rebels fighting for freedom.
- Mike Chilton (voiced by Reid Scott) – Mike is the leader of the Burners. He's 17, cool, and quick-witted. He usually has a plan and doesn't take many things seriously, except for his mission to stop Kane. Mike used to work for Kane, but he left when he saw how cruel Kane was.
- Julie Kane (voiced by Kate Micucci) – Julie is the Burners' expert at getting information. She works as an "intern" at KaneCo to find out what Kane is planning. She is very skilled and patient. Her teammates don't know it, but she is actually Kane's daughter, even though she strongly opposes his plans.
- Chuck (voiced by Nate Torrence) – Chuck is Mike's best friend and the computer genius for the Burners. He's super smart and can always find a way out of trouble. He's also always improving the Burners' computer systems. Chuck is loyal, even though he often gets scared by dangerous situations. He's the only Burner who can't drive.
- Dutch Gordy (voiced by Kel Mitchell) – Dutch is the Burners' creative tech wizard. He escaped Kane's city and doesn't like going back, even to fight. He can be a bit wary at first, but he's a loyal teammate once you get to know him. Dutch loves art and often upgrades the Burners' cars with new weapons and gadgets.
- Texas (voiced by Jess Harnell) – Texas is a strong and determined member of the Burners. He's usually the first one to jump into a fight. He's very loyal to the team and sees himself as Mike's second-in-command. Texas often talks about himself in the third person and yells his name when he attacks!
- Jacob (voiced by Brian Doyle-Murray) – Jacob is a wise, older man who used to be Kane's partner. He's full of scientific and tech knowledge, though he sometimes talks about organic food a lot. Their partnership ended when Kane became too power-hungry.
- R.O.T.H. – This is Dutch's cube-shaped robot helper. R.O.T.H. used to be one of Kane's attack robots until Dutch reprogrammed him. He has helped the team many times.
Friends of the Burners
The Burners have several allies who help them in their fight.
- Claire (voiced by Dana Davis) – Claire is Julie's best friend. She lives in Detroit Deluxe and helps Julie keep her secret. Claire finds Motorcity a bit "weird" and "scary."
- Dr. Hudson (voiced by Jim Cummings) – Dr. Hudson was Jacob's student. He now helps the Burners from his lab in Motorcity after they rescued him.
- Rayon (voiced by Bumper Robinson) – Rayon leads a gang called the Skylarks. He owns the Skylark Motel and often works with the Burners. He trusts Mike and his team.
- Darr Gordy (voiced by Roshon Fegan) – Darr is Dutch's brother and a new cadet for Kane. He became another inside contact for the Burners after seeing Dutch help people.
- Tennie (voiced by Aimee Garcia) – Tennie is an engineer and a friend of Dutch. She and her father helped the Burners defend their home from Kane's robots.
- Foxy (voiced by Jennifer Hale) – Foxy leads the Amazons, an all-girl gang in Motorcity. They use fast, high-tech cars. Foxy becomes an ally to the Burners, especially after befriending Claire.
The Villains
These characters stand in the way of the Burners' mission.
- Abraham Kane (voiced by Mark Hamill) – Kane is the main bad guy and the rich owner of Detroit Deluxe. He built the new city on top of the old Detroit, which he now calls Motorcity. He wants to take over all of Detroit and plans to destroy the people living in Motorcity. He loves being evil!
- Tooley (voiced by Jim Breuer) – Tooley is Kane's not-so-smart but very strong helper. He is completely loyal to Kane. Tooley also seems to like Julie, which she sometimes uses to get information from him.
- Kaia (voiced by Laraine Newman) – Kaia leads a group called "Terra." They live in a village outside Detroit that was ruined by KaneCo's waste. They fight using mutant plants and want revenge on Kane and the people of Deluxe. They wear masks because the waste mutated them.
- The Duke of Detroit (voiced by Dee Snider) – The Duke is a car collector who is sometimes a friend and sometimes an enemy. He owns a palace full of amazing cars. He sometimes puts the Burners in dangerous situations for his own entertainment.
- #2 (voiced by Tara Strong) – She is the Duke's loyal second-in-command. She has a New York accent and is always chewing bubble gum.
- Cyborg Dan (voiced by Dave Wittenberg) – A robot who works for the Duke. He blames Mike for his face being melted off, even though it wasn't really Mike's fault.
- Red (voiced by Eric Ladin) – Red is from Mike's past. Mike accidentally caused Red's home to be destroyed by KaneCo. Red blames Mike and trained for a year to get revenge. After losing to Mike, Red joined Kane and became an elite soldier with upgraded gear.
Awesome Cars of Motorcity
The Burners and other characters drive unique and powerful vehicles.
- Mutt – This is Mike and Chuck's cool green muscle car from the 70s. It has four powerful engines, energy weapons, and a hidden chopper!
- 9 Lives – Julie's car is a modified yellow police cruiser. It can create fake hologram cars, become nearly invisible, and deploy smoke screens or oil slicks. It also has a powerful Sniper Beam.
- Stronghorn – Texas drives this black and red six-wheeled race car. It's built from parts of old Italian sports cars. Stronghorn has huge battering pistons and drills for smashing things!
- Whiptail – Dutch's white and purple hot rod is always being changed and improved. Its speakers can turn into a "sonic spitter" that can break armor with loud sound waves. R.O.T.H. helps Dutch with repairs and upgrades on Whiptail.
- Blonde Thunder – This is Chuck's blue custom sports car. It was broken for a while until his friends fixed it up for a race. It has a turbo boost but no other known weapons.
- Sasquatch – Jacob's car is a blue 20th-century truck with huge monster truck tires and a modified tow truck bed.
- The Duke's Limos – The Duke of Detroit has old-fashioned cars stretched into limos. His main vehicle is a giant monster truck that can even fire stretch limos as ammunition!
- The Red Car – Red's car has smoke bombs, a harpoon, and machine guns. Red is also very good at car tricks. After he joined Kane, his car was rebuilt with advanced tech, allowing it to shoot lasers and hover.
Places in Motorcity
Explore the different locations in this futuristic world.
- Motorcity – This is the underground refuge, what's left of Old Detroit. It's the place the Burners are protecting.
- North, East, West and South side gates – These are the only ways to get from Motorcity up into Detroit Deluxe.
- Detroit Deluxe – This is the futuristic city built on a giant platform above Old Detroit. The people living here have lost their personal freedoms, but most don't even realize it.
- The Detroit Doom Jump – This is a legendary jump that no one has ever successfully made. People get scared and fall!
- Lake Erie – The Burners turned the shoreline of Lake Erie into a fun theme park.
- The Burners' Garage – This is the Burners' main headquarters. It has all the equipment they need for their missions.
- The Terra's Village – This is the home of the Terras. It used to be a beautiful place, but KaneCo's waste mutated everything there. Now it's full of giant mushrooms and spores.
- The Duke's Mansion – This is a very large house on a hill above a junkyard. It belongs to the Duke of Detroit and has an obstacle course nearby.
