Kel Johari Rice Mitchell (born August 25, 1978) is an American actor, comedian, and TV host. He is best known for his fun roles on Nickelodeon. You might remember him as Ed from the movie Good Burger and the TV show All That. He also starred with Kenan Thompson in the popular sitcom Kenan & Kel. Later, he played Double G in the show Game Shakers. Kel Mitchell has also lent his voice to cartoons and even earned Emmy nominations for his role as T-Bone in Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Early Life and Beginnings
Kel Mitchell was born on August 25, 1978, in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up on the South Side of the city. As a young student, he attended Chicago Vocational High School. He also took drama classes at the ETA Creative Arts Foundation, which helped him start his acting journey. Kel has two sisters named Kenyatta and Kyra.
Acting Career Highlights

Kel Mitchell began his acting career when he was just 15 years old. He joined the cast of the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show All That in 1994. On the show, he often worked with his friend Kenan Thompson. One of his most famous characters was Ed, a goofy fast-food worker. This character became so popular that it led to the 1997 movie Good Burger.
Kel and Kenan also starred in their own Nickelodeon sitcom, Kenan & Kel, which aired from 1996 to 2000. They played best friends who always got into funny situations. They even appeared together in other TV shows like Sister, Sister and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
Voice Acting and Other Roles
Beyond his work with Kenan, Kel Mitchell used his voice for many cartoon characters. He was the voice of T-Bone, a friendly dog, in the children's cartoon series Clifford the Big Red Dog from 2000 to 2003. He was even nominated for an Emmy Award twice for this role.
In 2015, Kel joined another Nickelodeon show called Game Shakers. He played Double G, a famous rap superstar who becomes a business partner with a group of kids who create video games. He also voiced characters in shows like Pink Panther and Pals and Motorcity.
Recent Projects and Reunions
Kel Mitchell has continued to be busy. In 2015, he made a special appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He brought back his famous Ed character from Good Burger, which was a big hit with fans. He also reunited with Kenan Thompson on the show.
In 2019, Kel became an executive producer for the reboot of All That. He also returned as a recurring cast member, bringing back some of his classic characters. That same year, he competed on Dancing with the Stars and finished in second place!
In 2022, Kel released a book called Blessed Mode: 90 Days to Level Up Your Faith. He also released a song with the same name. He and his wife, Asia, even competed on a cooking show called Guy's Grocery Games. In 2023, he starred in Good Burger 2, bringing back his beloved character, Ed.
Personal Life
Kel Mitchell has been married twice. He was married to Tyisha Hampton from 1999 to 2005, and they have two children together. In 2012, he married rapper Asia Lee. They also have two children, a daughter and a son.
Even though his character Kel on Kenan & Kel loved orange soda, Kel Mitchell has shared that he has never actually had carbonated drinks in real life!
Kel is a Christian. In 2019, he became a youth pastor at Spirit Food Christian Center in Winnetka, Los Angeles. He and his wife, Asia, received an award in 2016 for their show The Back House Party.
