Cousin Skeeter was a popular American sitcom for kids. It first aired on Nickelodeon from 1998 to 2001. The show starred Robert Ri'chard as Bobby, a young boy whose life changed a lot. This happened when his unique cousin, Skeeter, came to live with his family.
With Skeeter's help, Bobby learned important life lessons. He also handled the challenges of growing up. The show also featured Meagan Good as Bobby's friend Nina. Rondell Sheridan played Bobby's father, Andre. Angela Means was Bobby's mother, Vanessa. Skeeter was actually a hand puppet. Bill Bellamy gave Skeeter his voice. Drew Massey was the puppeteer, helped by Alice Dinnean. In the show, everyone treated Skeeter like a real person. No one ever mentioned that he was a puppet.
The show's theme song was a fun version of "Steelo". This was a hit song from 1996 by the group 702. The famous artist Missy Elliott wrote it.

Cousin Skeeter first aired on September 1, 1998. It was shown on Nickelodeon. It shared its time slot with another show called The Wild Thornberrys. Cousin Skeeter was one of many shows at that time. These shows explored different cultures and backgrounds. They showed how diverse families and friends could be. Another show like this was The Brothers García.
The show often focused on everyday situations. It showed them in a funny way, thanks to Skeeter. Skeeter often caused some trouble. But Bobby usually found a way to fix things.

Skeeter is a puppet who moved from Georgia to New York City. He came to live with his cousin Bobby. Skeeter is loud, acts without thinking, and loves to have fun. He often gets Bobby into funny situations. Skeeter is also friends with some famous people. These include Michael Jordan, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Dennis Rodman. He usually doesn't get angry. But if someone says he's short, he can get very upset! The show never says he is a puppet.
- Bobby Walker (portrayed by Robert Ri'chard)
Bobby is from Inglewood, California. He is smart and usually well-behaved. Skeeter often gets Bobby into trouble. Bobby sometimes gets mad at Skeeter. But he still likes his cousin a lot.
- André Walker (portrayed by Rondell Sheridan)
André is Bobby's father. He works as a music producer.
- Nina Jones (portrayed by Meagan Good)
Nina is Bobby's best friend. They both liked each other when the show started. Later, they even began dating. Nina talks very fast. She is also Nicole's best friend.
- Vanessa Walker (portrayed by Angela Means)
Vanessa is Bobby's mother. She is a lawyer. Like Bobby, she often gets annoyed by Skeeter's antics. She and Andre look forward to the boys going to college. They sometimes try to get Skeeter and Bobby out of their hair.

Nicole is a female puppet character. She is more polite and calm than Skeeter. She first appeared in the second season. This was in a TV movie called "New Kids on the Planet." Nicole quickly became good friends with Nina. They are like sisters. She is also shown to be tough. She once wanted to join the high school football team. She even threatened to hurt the school bully if he bothered Skeeter.
- Duke
Duke was one of Bobby's friends from school. He appeared in the first and second seasons.
- Geoff
Geoff was another one of Bobby's school friends. He sometimes seemed to be a bad influence on the boys.
