How Mount Kain Got Its Name
Mount Kain was named in a very interesting way. This happened during a survey of the Mount Robson area. The survey was carried out in the summer of 1911. It was led by the Alpine Club of Canada.
A group of explorers was surveying from a nearby mountain. They spotted this peak and thought it looked special. One of the guides, a famous climber named Conrad Kain, was very excited. He exclaimed, "Ach! That is my peak!" The trip leader, Arthur Oliver Wheeler, decided to record the mountain's name as Mount Kain. This was a tribute to Conrad Kain's enthusiasm and his skill as a mountaineer.
