How Mount Pritchard Got Its Name

A few years later, in 1919, the estate was renamed Mount Pritchard. This was done to thank Mr. Pritchard for helping many landowners who owed money. The local voting place also changed its name to Mount Pritchard in 1924.
The Story of Mount Misery
Before it was officially named, the area was sometimes called Mount Misery. This name came from a story about an early settler family. They camped there while traveling and lost their bullocks (oxen). For three weeks, they were very sad and worried. Eventually, they had to leave without their animals or cart because they were starving.
