Climate Around Mount Regan
Mount Regan is in a place with a "marine west coast" climate. This means it's often wet and mild, like many coastal areas in western North America.
How Weather Forms
Most of the weather here comes from the Pacific Ocean. When wet air from the ocean travels east and hits the mountains, it has to rise. As this air goes up, it cools down. This cooling makes the moisture in the air turn into rain or snow. This process is called orographic lift.
Temperatures and Best Time to Visit
Because of this, the mountains get a lot of rain and snow. Winter months especially see heavy snowfall. It can get really cold, sometimes below −20 °C. With the wind, it can feel even colder, like −30 °C! If you want to climb Mount Regan, the best time is usually from July to September. The weather is much nicer and more stable then.
