Mountain City is a small town located in Rabun County, Georgia, in the United States. In 2020, about 904 people lived there. This town is special because it sits right on the Eastern Continental Divide. This means that rain falling on one side of the town flows to the Atlantic Ocean, and rain on the other side flows to the Gulf of Mexico! The town is in a low spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This makes it easy for a main road, U.S. Route 441, to cross the mountains without going up or down very steep hills.
