Mud Lake (also known as French: lac Mud in French) is a small lake located in Greater Madawaska, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. It's found in the eastern part of Ontario.

This lake is part of a very large system called the Saint Lawrence River drainage basin. This means that any water leaving Mud Lake will eventually flow into the Saint Lawrence River.

About Mud Lake

Where is Mud Lake?

Mud Lake is in a place called Blithfield Township. This is a geographic area within Renfrew County. The lake is quite small. It is about 180 meters (590 feet) long and 140 meters (460 feet) wide. Its surface is about 277 meters (909 feet) above sea level.

How Water Flows In and Out

Mud Lake does not have any rivers or streams flowing into it. These are called inflows. Instead, it gets its water from rain and snowmelt.

The water leaves the lake through an unnamed creek. This creek flows out from the north side of Mud Lake. It then joins the Madawaska River. The Madawaska River then flows into the Ottawa River. Finally, the Ottawa River empties into the huge Saint Lawrence River. So, Mud Lake's water travels a long way to the ocean!
