Mula is a special area called a barrio in the town of Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. Think of a barrio like a neighborhood or a district within a larger town. In 2010, about 3,842 people lived in Mula. This barrio is also part of the main urban (city) area of Aguas Buenas.
History of Mula
After the Spanish–American War, Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States. This happened because of the Treaty of Paris of 1898. In 1899, the United States government counted the people living in Puerto Rico. They found that Mula and a nearby barrio called Sonadora had a combined population of 1,183 people.
