Traditional Lands of the Muluridji People
The Muluridji people traditionally lived in a large area of land in Queensland. This area was about 1,100 square miles (2,800 km2) in size. A researcher named Norman Tindale helped estimate the size of their traditional territory.
Where the Muluridji Lived
Their lands started near the headwaters of the Mitchell River. From there, their territory stretched north towards Mount Carbine. To the east, their land reached Rumula. The southern part of their country was on the Atherton Tableland near Mareeba. The western edge of their territory was around a place called 'Woodville'. This area was mostly drier land, just west of the rainforests, between Biboohra and Mount Molloy.

Like many Indigenous Australian groups, the Muluridji people had a strong social structure. This structure often included different family groups or clans. Clans are like large family units that share a common ancestor and often have special connections to certain parts of their traditional land.
