About Musketasonan Lake

Musketasonan Lake is not a huge lake, but it's an important one. It measures about 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi) long. Its width is around 1.6 kilometres (1.0 mi). The lake sits at an elevation of 249 metres (817 ft) above sea level. This means it's quite high up compared to the ocean.

Where the Water Goes

Musketasonan Lake is special because it is the starting point for the Bolton River. The water from the lake flows into this river. From there, the Bolton River carries its water into Gods Lake.

After Gods Lake, the water continues its journey. It flows through the Gods River. Finally, the Gods River joins the Hayes River. The Hayes River then empties into Hudson Bay. Hudson Bay is a very large body of saltwater in northeastern Canada. So, a drop of water from Musketasonan Lake could travel all the way to the ocean!
