Nödinge Church (which is called Nödinge kyrka in Swedish) is a beautiful church located in Nödinge-Nol, a place in Västergötland, Sweden. It's about 2 miles north of the big city of Gothenburg.
The church you see today was built in 1727. It replaced a much older church that stood there before, which was built way back in the 12th or 13th century!
About Nödinge Church
Nödinge Church is known for its lovely baroque style inside. Baroque is a fancy art style from the 1600s and 1700s, known for being very detailed and grand.
A Look Inside
The inside of Nödinge Church is quite special. It has amazing paintings on the ceiling. These were added in 1734 by a talented artist named Alexander Fox.
You can also see a special stand called a pulpit. This is where the priest gives sermons. The pulpit in Nödinge Church was made in 1741 by a sculptor named Johan Petter Weber.
The church has been kept in good shape over the years. It had a big renovation (a major fix-up) between 1981 and 1982 to make sure it stays beautiful for a long time.
Did You Know?
Nödinge Church is not just a place for worship! It was also used as a filming location for a movie. In 2013, parts of the Swedish movie The Anderssons Hit the Road were filmed right inside this historic church.
