Naaman (also known as Naamans Corner) is a small, unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. An unincorporated community is a place where people live and work, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
Naaman is located very close to the Pennsylvania state line, about half a mile south of it. It's also about 7.5 miles northeast of the city of Wilmington. You can find Naaman where Delaware Route 92 and Ridge Road meet, just northeast of Claymont.
Where Did Naaman Get Its Name?
The name "Naaman" has an interesting history! It is thought to come from a Minqua chief. The Minqua were a Native American tribe. This chief was known for being friendly with the early Swedish settlers who came to this area a long time ago.
