Nadir Çiftçi (born February 12, 1992) is a professional footballer from Turkey. He plays as a forward for TFF Second League club Karaman FK. Nadir has played for many different clubs throughout his career. Some of these include Portsmouth, Dundee United, and Celtic.
He first played for the Netherlands under-17 team. Later, he decided to play for his birth country, Turkey. He joined their under-19 team.

Club Career Highlights
Early Career at Portsmouth
Nadir Çiftçi moved to Portsmouth in 2007 when he was just 15 years old. He came from the Dutch team ADO Den Haag. In June 2010, he signed his first professional contract.
He made his first team debut on August 7, 2010. This was in a game against Coventry City. A few days later, he scored his first goal for Portsmouth. This happened on August 9, 2010, in a League Cup match against Stevenage. His goal helped Portsmouth win the game 2–1. He scored another goal in the league against Reading. He finished the season with 22 appearances and two goals.
Moving to Turkey and Netherlands
On May 14, 2011, Çiftçi decided to leave Portsmouth. He signed with the Turkish club Kayserispor. He played 11 games for them. In June 2012, he left Kayserispor.
After that, Çiftçi joined NAC Breda in the Netherlands in August 2012. He signed a three-year contract with them. He played for one season before moving on.
Success at Dundee United
On July 2, 2013, Çiftçi went for a trial with Scottish Premiership club Dundee United. He impressed them and signed a two-year contract on July 25. He scored a great goal in a friendly match against Wigan Athletic. His manager, Jackie McNamara, had high hopes for him.
He scored his first official goals for Dundee United on August 28, 2013. He scored two goals in a League Cup game against Dumbarton. He also scored his first league goals against Ross County and Motherwell. He scored a fantastic volley against Kilmarnock on October 5, 2013.
During his time at Dundee United, Çiftçi sometimes faced disciplinary issues on the field. He finished his first season with 11 league goals. He also helped Dundee United reach the Scottish Cup final in 2014. They lost the final to St Johnstone.
In his second season, he continued to score important goals. He scored against Ross County and Hamilton Accies. He played a key role in a 2–1 win over Celtic in December 2014. He scored the first goal and assisted the second. He was the club's top scorer in both his seasons at Dundee United.
Time at Celtic
Celtic signed Nadir Çiftçi on July 9, 2015. He signed a four-year contract with the club. He chose to wear the number 7 jersey, which is famous at Celtic. He made his debut in a friendly game the day after signing.
He played in Celtic's early Champions League qualifier games. He scored his first goal for Celtic on September 20, 2015. This was in a big 6–0 win against Dundee. He also helped set up another goal in that game. On December 13, 2015, he scored two goals in a 3–0 win against St Johnstone.
Loan Spells Away from Celtic
In February 2016, Çiftçi went on loan to Turkish club Eskişehirspor for the rest of the season. He scored his first goal for them in March.
In February 2017, he joined Polish club Pogoń Szczecin on loan. He faced some challenges during this time and did not score any goals in eight games. He returned to Celtic due to an ankle injury.
Later, in August 2017, Çiftçi joined EFL League One club Plymouth Argyle on loan. This loan spell was not very successful, and he did not score any goals.
In January 2018, his loan at Plymouth ended early. He then signed on loan for Motherwell in Scotland. He made his debut for Motherwell on January 20, 2018. He scored his first goal for them on February 3, in a 1–1 draw against Partick Thistle. At the end of the 2017–18 season, Celtic confirmed that Çiftçi would leave the club.
Later Career Clubs
In August 2018, Çiftçi joined Gençlerbirliği. He helped his new club start the season strongly, scoring four goals in their first nine league wins.
He then signed with Çaykur Rizespor on August 24, 2020. After a short time there, he moved to Samsunspor in the TFF First League.
In September 2021, Çiftçi signed with MKE Ankaragücü. He left the club in January 2022. On January 5, 2022, he returned to Scotland to play for St Johnstone until the end of the season. He later played for Makedonikos, İskenderunspor, Karaman FK, and is currently with İnegölspor.
International Career
Nadir Çiftçi played for the Netherlands at youth levels. However, he decided to play for Turkey, the country where he was born. In November 2010, the Turkish national team coach met with Çiftçi. Çiftçi then announced he wanted to play for Turkey.
On March 8, 2011, Çiftçi made his debut for Turkey's under-19 team. This was in a match against Montenegro, which Turkey won 3–0. Two days later, he scored his first goal for the under-19 team, also against Montenegro.
