Nadir Larbaoui (born September 26, 1949) is an important figure in Algeria. He is a politician, a lawyer, and a diplomat. Since November 2023, he has been serving as the Prime Minister of Algeria. The Prime Minister is the head of the government in Algeria, helping the president run the country.

Early Life and Sports Career
When he was younger, Nadir Larbaoui was a talented athlete. He played handball for the Algeria men's national handball team. Handball is a team sport where players pass a ball and try to throw it into the opposing team's goal.
Larbaoui helped his team win the Algerian Handball Cup several times. They won in 1971–1972, 1972–1973, and 1975–1976. He also played for Algeria in big international competitions. These included the World Handball Championship in 1974 and the African Handball Championship in 1976.
From Law to Diplomacy
After his sports career, Larbaoui decided to study law. He went to the University of Algiers and earned degrees in law. This made him a lawyer, someone who helps people with legal matters.
He then started working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This government department handles Algeria's relationships with other countries. He held important roles there, like managing legal issues and international business relations.
Larbaoui later became a career diplomat. A diplomat is an official who represents their country in other nations or at international organizations. He served as Algeria's ambassador to many places, including the United Nations, Pakistan, Egypt, the Arab League, and the Arab Maghreb Union. An ambassador is the highest-ranking diplomat representing their country abroad.
Becoming Prime Minister
In March 2023, Nadir Larbaoui became the chief of staff for the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. This means he was a top advisor and manager for the president.
On November 11, 2023, President Tebboune chose Larbaoui to be the new Prime Minister of Algeria. He took over from the previous Prime Minister, Aymen Benabderrahmane. This appointment was a big step in his long career of public service.
