The Naf River is an important river in Asia. It begins its journey in Myanmar and flows south. Eventually, it empties into the Bay of Bengal, which is a large part of the Indian Ocean.
A big part of the Naf River acts as a natural boundary. It forms the border between two countries: Bangladesh and Myanmar. This means the river helps separate the two nations.

The Naf River starts in the Arakan hills. These hills are located in Myanmar. From there, the river flows towards the sea.
How Big is the Naf River?
The Naf River changes in size along its path. Its width can be anywhere from about 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) to 3.2 kilometers (2 miles) wide.
The river also has different depths. On average, the Naf River is about 128 feet (39 m) deep. At its deepest points, it can reach up to 400 feet (120 m) deep. This makes it quite a deep river in some areas.
