Nakahara Prize facts for kids
The Nakahara Prize (中原賞) is a special award given every year in Japan. It's like a big "well done!" prize for economists. An economist is someone who studies how money, goods, and services are made, shared, and used in a country or the world.
The Japanese Economic Association gives this prize to Japanese economists who are under 45 years old. Their work must be recognized and respected all over the world. The prize started in 1995. It was named after Nobuyuki Nakahara, who helped create it. The main goal of the prize is to celebrate and encourage young economists to write important papers and books that are known internationally. In 2016, Sagiri Kitao made history by becoming the first woman to win this award.
