Naser Ismail Aliji (born on December 27, 1993) is a professional footballer. He plays as a left-back for Dinamo City. He also plays for the Albania national team. Naser was born in Macedonia. He played for Switzerland as a young player. He started playing for Albania in 2015.

Club Career
Starting Out in Football
Naser Aliji was born in Kumanovo, Macedonia. His family is from Albania. When he was four years old, his mother moved to Baden, Switzerland. She moved there with Naser's brother and sister to join their father. His father had been working in Switzerland for many years.
Naser started playing football at age four. His brother encouraged him to join FC Baden. When he was nine, he played for FC Aarau for one year. After that, he joined FC Basel in 2008. He played for their Under-18 and Under-21 teams. He even won awards as a top young player.
Playing for FC Basel
Naser signed his first professional contract with FC Basel on June 20, 2013. He joined their main team. He played his first game for Basel on August 17, 2013. It was a Swiss Cup match.
He played his first full game in the Swiss Cup quarter-final on February 5, 2014. Basel won that game 6–1. On March 16, 2014, Naser played his first Swiss Super League game. He played the whole game, and Basel won 5–0.
At the end of the 2013–14 season, Naser and Basel won the league championship. They also reached the final of the 2013–14 Swiss Cup. However, they lost to Zürich. Basel also played in the Champions League that season. They made it to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
The 2014–15 season was also good for Basel. Naser scored his first goal for the team on July 19, 2014. Basel won that game 2–1 against Aarau. Even though he scored, Naser didn't play much in the first half of the season. So, Basel decided to let him play for another team to get more experience.
Loan to FC Vaduz
In January 2015, Naser was loaned to FC Vaduz. This team also played in the Swiss Super League. He was loaned for one and a half years. Naser played his first game for Vaduz on February 15, 2015. He played the entire game, and Vaduz won 1–0.
Naser played 17 matches for Vaduz that season. He also helped Vaduz win the 2014–15 Liechtenstein Cup in May 2015. Winning this cup meant Vaduz could play in the Europa League qualifying rounds. Naser played in these European matches, helping his team win.
Coming Back to Basel
Naser returned to Basel because another player, Adama Traoré, got injured. Basel needed Naser back. Under coach Urs Fischer, Naser helped Basel win the Swiss Super League championship again. This was his third league title with Basel.
On July 1, 2016, Basel announced that Naser was leaving the club. He moved to Germany. During his time with Basel, Naser played 64 games and scored one goal.
Playing for 1. FC Kaiserslautern
On July 1, 2016, Naser joined 1. FC Kaiserslautern in Germany. This team plays in the 2. Bundesliga. He signed a contract until June 2019. He was meant to replace another player who had left.
Naser played regularly at first. However, he didn't play as much under the new coach. His contract with the club ended early on August 31, 2017.
Later Years in Football
After leaving Kaiserslautern, Naser was without a club for six months. In January 2018, he joined Virtus Entella, an Italian club. He played there for six months. Later, he played for Dinamo București in Romania and Budapest Honvéd in Hungary. He joined Voluntari in Romania in the summer of 2022. In 2024, he joined Dinamo City.
Personal Life
In the summer of 2018, Naser returned to Switzerland. He wanted to be with his father, who was unwell.
International Career
Naser played for youth teams in Macedonia and Switzerland. However, he decided he wanted to play for Albania. In December 2014, it was confirmed that Naser wanted to represent Albania. He started the process to get an Albanian passport. Some of his former teammates from Basel also played for Albania.
On March 5, 2015, Naser received his Albanian citizenship. He became the first player from Macedonia to play for the Albania national team.
Naser was first called to play for Albania by coach Gianni De Biasi. This was for a match against Armenia in March 2015. However, he couldn't play yet because FIFA had not approved it. He was called up again for a friendly match against France on June 13, 2015. He played the whole game, and Albania won 1–0.
On May 21, 2016, Naser was chosen for Albania's team for UEFA Euro 2016. He was part of the final 23-man squad. Naser did not play in any of the group matches at Euro 2016. Albania finished third in their group and was eliminated from the tournament.
