Nasrollah Abdollahi is a well-known Iranian football coach and former player. He was born on September 2, 1951, in Tehran, Iran. He is famous for his skills as a defender and for playing for the Iranian national team.
Playing Football
Club Teams
Nasrollah Abdollahi started his football journey playing for a team called Guard F.C.. After that, he joined Taj SC, which is now known as Esteghlal F.C..
With Taj SC, he achieved great success. He helped them win the Iranian league title in 1971. He also played a key role when Taj SC won the AFC Champions League in 1970. This was a huge achievement for the club.
Later, he played for Rah Ahan F.C. for two years. Then, he moved to Shahbaz F.C.. At Shahbaz F.C., he had many successful seasons. His team finished third in the Iranian league in 1976/77. They also won the Tehran Cup in 1981.
Playing for Iran
Nasrollah Abdollahi also played for the Iranian national team, often called Team Melli. He was part of the team that went to the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. Iran reached the quarterfinals in that tournament.
He also played in all three matches for Iran at the 1978 FIFA World Cup. This is a very big event in football, where teams from all over the world compete.
Between 1976 and 1980, Abdollahi played for the national team 39 times. He helped Iran win the 1976 AFC Asian Cup when it was held in Iran. He also led the team as captain to a third-place finish in the 1980 AFC Asian Cup in Kuwait.
Coaching Football
After his playing career, Nasrollah Abdollahi became a football coach. He worked as an assistant manager for Esteghlal F.C. for a short time. This was when Nasser Hejazi, another famous Iranian football figure, was the main manager.
