Nasry Juan Asfura Zablah (Arabic: نصري خوان عصفورة زبلح), born on June 8, 1958, is a Honduran politician. He is also known as Tito Asfura. He is the President-elect of Honduras and will begin his term in January 2026.
Mr. Asfura is a member of the National Party of Honduras. He served as the mayor of Tegucigalpa, the capital city, from 2014 to 2022. Before that, he was a representative in the National Congress of Honduras for the Francisco Morazán department from 2010 to 2014. In May 2025, he became the President of the National Party of Honduras. Later that year, he was elected President of Honduras in the 2025 Honduran general election. He also ran for president in 2021, coming in second place to Xiomara Castro. In 2020, he was recognized as one of the 100 most influential Latinos by Sachamama.

Early Life and Education
Nasry Asfura was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. His family came to Central America from Palestine during a time of conflict in their homeland in the 1940s. He completed his high school education at the San Francisco Institute. He started studying civil engineering at the National Autonomous University of Honduras. However, he decided to leave his studies to work in the construction industry. He first became involved in public service in the 1990s.
Beginning His Public Service Career
Mr. Asfura started his career in public service in the 1990s.
- From 1990 to 1994, he worked as an assistant to the municipal prosecutor in Tegucigalpa. He also assisted Mayor Nora Gúnera de Melgar.
- Between 1994 and 1998, he was the public services manager for the city.
- He was part of the government teams for Mayor César Castellanos Madrid in 1998 and his wife, Vilma Reyes, from 1998 to 2002.
In February 2005, he ran in his party's elections to become a candidate for mayor of the Central District. He did not win that election, losing to Ricardo Álvarez. During his campaign, he used the catchy phrase "Papi a la orden!" which means "Daddy at your service!" This phrase became his well-known nickname. After Mr. Álvarez became mayor, Mr. Asfura served as a councilman in his administration. In the 2009 elections, he was elected as a representative for the Francisco Morazán Department in the National Congress. He then became the director of the Honduran Social Investment Fund until September 2011.
A Path to the Presidency
Presidential Campaigns
Mr. Asfura was the presidential candidate for the National Party in the 2021 election. Early in the campaign, many thought the race would be very close between him and another candidate, Xiomara Castro. However, Ms. Castro won the election by a clear margin.
In 2025, the National Party nominated Mr. Asfura again for the presidential election. He received support from leaders in other countries, including United States president Donald Trump and Argentine president Javier Milei. During his campaign, Mr. Asfura visited Washington, D.C. to show that he shared ideas with leaders there. He won the election, receiving 40.3% of the votes. He is now the President-elect of Honduras.
Resolving Legal Questions
During his time in public service, Mr. Asfura faced some legal questions about how public money was managed. These questions were reviewed by the authorities. In December 2025, the highest court in Honduras, the Supreme Court of Honduras, fully reviewed the case. They decided that all the questions were resolved, and he was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Nasry Asfura is married to Lissette del Cid. They have three children together.
