Natalie Ong facts for kids

Natalie Ong (born on December 19, 2000), known as NYA, is a talented singer-songwriter from Singapore and Australia. She became famous after appearing on the TV show The X Factor Australia in 2016. Since then, she has been busy recording and releasing music, especially in China, and appearing on various shows.

About NYA

Early Life

Natalie Ong was born in Singapore. When she was just two and a half years old, her family moved to Australia. She grew up there and attended Waverley Christian College in Victoria. Natalie also has a younger brother.

Music Journey

NYA's big break came in 2016 when she joined the eighth season of The X Factor Australia. For her audition, she sang "The Voice Within" by Christina Aguilera. Her mentor on the show, Adam Lambert, chose her as one of his top three singers to go to the live shows. She impressed him by singing "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James.

Even though she was eliminated in Week 1 of the live shows, her career really took off after the program.

After X Factor

After her time on The X Factor, NYA continued to make music. In 2017, she released her own song called "Get Gold." She also acted in a musical called Army Daze 2, where she played the character Renee.

NYA also performed at special events like ChildAid in 2016 and 2017. She also performed at the Home Team Show & Festival in 2017, which celebrated NS50 (50 years of National Service in Singapore). Both of these performances were directed by the famous artist Dick Lee.

More recently, NYA moved to China to expand her music career. She now uses the name NYA奈亞 and has released several Chinese songs.
