Pierre David Guetta (born November 7, 1967) is a famous French DJ and music producer. He is one of the most successful DJs in the world. Guetta has sold over 10 million albums and 65 million singles. His music has been streamed on Spotify more than 30 billion times.
He was voted the number one DJ in the world by DJ Mag magazine in 2011, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2013, the magazine Billboard said his song "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland was the best dance-pop song ever made.
Guetta has won many awards, including two Grammy Awards. He is known for mixing electronic music with pop and working with famous singers.

Early Life
Pierre David Guetta was born and grew up in Paris, France. His father, Pierre, was a sociologist from a Moroccan Jewish family. His mother, Monique, was from Belgium. Guetta has an older half-brother, Bernard Guetta, who is a well-known journalist.
Music Career
1984–2000: Getting Started as a DJ
David Guetta started DJing in Paris clubs when he was a teenager. At first, he played popular songs. In 1987, he heard house music for the first time and loved it. He began to host his own club nights to play this new style of music.
In the 1990s, he became a popular DJ in famous Paris nightclubs like Le Palace. In 1994, he released his second single, "Up & Away," with American singer Robert Owens.
2001–2006: First Albums
In 2001, Guetta released his first big hit single, "Just a Little More Love," with American singer Chris Willis. His first album, also called Just a Little More Love, came out in 2002 and sold over 300,000 copies.
He also started a series of compilation albums named after his parties in Ibiza. His second album, Guetta Blaster, was released in 2004. It included popular songs like "The World Is Mine".
2007–2010: Becoming a Global Star

Guetta's third album, Pop Life (2007), was a big success in Europe. The main single, "Love Is Gone", became a number one hit on the American Dance Chart. He traveled the world to promote the album.
His fourth album, One Love (2009), made him famous worldwide. It had huge hit singles:
- "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland, which was number one in the UK.
- "... ..." with Akon, which also reached number one in the UK.
- "Memories" with Kid Cudi.
During this time, Guetta also produced the song "I Gotta Feeling" for The Black Eyed Peas. The song was a massive hit, topping the charts in 17 countries. It became one of the most downloaded songs of all time.
2011–2013: Nothing but the Beat
Guetta's fifth album, Nothing but the Beat (2011), continued his success. It was a double album, with one disc of pop songs and another of electronic music. The album featured many hit songs with famous artists:
- "Where Them Girls At" with Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj.
- "Without You" with Usher.
- "Titanium" with Sia. This became one of his most famous songs.
- "Turn Me On" with Nicki Minaj.
In 2012, he started his own record label, Jack Back Records, to release more electronic music.
2014–2019: More Albums and Big Projects

In 2014, Guetta released his sixth album, Listen. It included the hit singles "Lovers on the Sun" and "Dangerous", both featuring singer Sam Martin. The song "Hey Mama" with Nicki Minaj and Bebe Rexha was also a top ten hit in the US and UK.
In 2016, Guetta was chosen as the music ambassador for the UEFA Euro 2016 soccer tournament. He created the official song, "This One's for You", with singer Zara Larsson. He performed it at the opening and closing ceremonies in Paris.
His seventh album, 7 (2018), was another double album. One part featured pop collaborations, like "2U" with Justin Bieber and "Flames" with Sia. The other part was released under his alias, Jack Back, and focused on house music.
2020–Present: Future Rave and Charity Work
In 2020, Guetta and fellow DJ Morten started a new music style called "future rave". They released an EP called New Rave together.
During the 2020 pandemic, Guetta hosted a series of virtual concerts called "United At Home". He performed from Miami and New York City to raise money for charities like the World Health Organization and Feeding America. The events raised over $1.5 million and were watched by millions of people online.
In 2022, he released the hit song "I'm Good (Blue)" with Bebe Rexha. The song was a huge success and stayed at the top of the US Dance/Electronic chart for a very long time. He continues to release music and tour around the world, including a residency in Ibiza and performances at major festivals. In November 2024, he released "Supernova Love" with the K-pop group Ive.
Personal Life
Guetta married nightclub manager Cathy Lobé in 1992. They have two children, a son named Tim Elvis (born in 2004) and a daughter named Angie (born in 2007). The couple divorced in 2014 after 22 years of marriage.
Guetta is currently in a relationship with Jessica Ledon. In March 2024, they announced the birth of their son, Cyan.
