The National Warplane Museum is an exciting place in Geneseo, New York. It's a museum dedicated to warbirds, which are old military airplanes, and the history of military aviation. Founded in 1994, the museum works to restore, fly, and display amazing vintage military aircraft. These planes are mostly from the Second World War and the Korean War time periods.
In 1998, some members of the museum decided to move to a larger airport. This group moved to the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport. In 2010, that museum became known as the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center. However, the original group, called the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group, stayed in Geneseo. In 2013, they got the National Warplane Museum name back! Today, the museum in Geneseo hosts a big yearly event called the Geneseo Airshow. It's known as the "Greatest Show On Turf."
