Nattages was a small village in eastern France. It was once its own "commune," which is like a local government area or a town. On January 1, 2016, Nattages joined with another village called Parves to form a new, bigger commune named Parves-et-Nattages.

Exploring Nattages: Historic Sites

Nattages has some interesting old places to explore. These sites tell stories about the village's past.

Chateau Montbel Ruins

You can find the remains of an old castle called Chateau Montbel. Castles like this were important buildings long ago. They often served as homes for powerful families and offered protection.

Chemillieu Chapel

There is also a very old church building called the romanesque chapel of Chemillieu. "Romanesque" means it was built in a style common in Europe around the 11th and 12th centuries. These chapels were used for religious services.

The Village Church

Nattages also has a church that was rebuilt in the 17th century. This means parts of it are very old, but it was updated or repaired a few hundred years ago. Churches are often central to village life.
