Manuel Blanco was born in 1779. His parents, Pedro Blanco and Petronila Ramos, were farmers from Navianos. He became an Augustinian priest. Later, he became a missionary in the Philippines.
Botanical Discoveries
While in the Philippines, Manuel Blanco made many amazing botanical discoveries. He studied plants and found new species. His work is still important in the history of biology. He wrote a famous book called Flora de Filipinas. This book described many plants from the Philippines. Manuel Blanco passed away in Manila in 1845.
