Nebeska Peak is a tall, rocky mountain peak in Antarctica. It stands about 2,450 meters (or 8,038 feet) high! You can find it in an area called Sullivan Heights, which is on the eastern side of the Sentinel Range. This range is part of the larger Ellsworth Mountains. Nebeska Peak stands proudly above two glaciers: the Pulpudeva Glacier to its north and the Hinkley Glacier to its south.

Where is Nebeska Peak Located?

Nebeska Peak is found in a very cold and icy part of the world – Antarctica! Its exact location is at 78°23′01″S, 85°11′16″W. This peak is surrounded by other interesting mountains. For example, it is about 3.85 kilometers (2.4 miles) west-southwest of Mount Farrell. It's also about 10.45 kilometers (6.5 miles) northwest of Mount Waldron. Other nearby peaks include Mount Segers and Mount Bearskin. Maps of this area were created by the United States in 1988 and updated by the SCAR in 2012.

Many places in Antarctica are named after important people or places around the world. Nebeska Peak was named after a small town called Nebeska in southern Bulgaria. This is a way to honor different countries and their connections to exploring and mapping Antarctica.
