Nelson Freitas (born April 4, 1975) is a talented singer, producer, and recording artist from Cape Verde and the Netherlands. He is known for his unique style of music called Ghetto-Zouk. Nelson works with GhettoZouk Music, a record label that also features artists like Chelsy Shantel and William Araujo.

About Nelson Freitas
Nelson Freitas was born in the Netherlands. His parents are from Cape Verde. His music mixes sounds from Cape Verdean Zouk and R&B. He started his music journey in a boy band called "Quatro Plus" (also known as IV). This group played zouk and R&B music. The band members were Nilton Ramalho, Nelson Oliveira, and Adilson Ben David.
Early Music with Quatro Plus
The group "Quatro Plus" released their first songs on an album called MOBASS presents.... One of their first tracks was "Hoje em Dia" ("Nowadays"). They then released three more albums.
- 4-Voz came out in 1998. It included the popular song "Si bo cre".
- Bem Consché was released in 2002. This album had hit songs like "Kazanga" and "Última Viagem" ("Last Journey").
- Última Viagem was released in 2004.
Nelson's Solo Career
Nelson Freitas started his solo career in October 2006. His first solo album was called Magic. It featured songs in English and Cape Verdean Creole. Some famous artists like Vanessa da Mata and Ben Harper also appeared on this album.
His second album, My Life, came out in 2010. This album included the song "Rebound Chick". It also featured other artists such as William Araujo, Mc Knowledje, Sanches Laisa, and Anselmo Ralph.
In 2013, Nelson released his third album, Elevate. This album had many collaborations.
- He worked with C4 Pedro on the Creole song "Bo Tem Mel".
- Djodje was featured on another Creole song called "Bem Pa Mi".
- Anselmo Ralph joined him on "Drinks on Me".
- Eddy Parker and Crucial were on the song "All Upon You".
The music video for his song "Simple Girl" won an award for Best Video at the 2013 Cabo Verde Music Awards.
His most recent album, Four, was released in 2016. This album also featured many artists.
- Portuguese singer Richie Campbell was on "Break of Dawn".
- Another Cape Verdean singer, Mayra Andrade, was on "Nha Baby".
- Loony Johnson was featured on "That's Why I Love You".
- Mikkel Solnado appeared on "In My Feelings".
The last song on the album, "Miúda Linda", is a remixed version.
