Kaysha's Music Journey

Kaysha was born in Kinshasa, the capital city of Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). When he was seven, he moved to France with his family.

His very first song was called "Bounce Baby." It used a part of a song by a band named Kassav'. After that, he released another song called "Telephone." This song was from his album I'm Ready.

Later, Kaysha changed his music style. He made a more urban album called Worldwidechico. On this album, he even worked with Killah Priest from the famous group Wu-Tang Clan.

One of his biggest songs is "On dit quoi." This song became a huge hit across Africa. It was released in 2003 on his own music label, Sushiraw. Some of his other popular songs include "Love de toi," "One Love," "Question my heart," "Fiona," and "Musiquarian."

Kaysha as a Producer

Kaysha is not just a singer; he is also a skilled music producer. This means he helps other artists create their songs. He has produced music for many artists, including Passi, Solaar, Jacob Desvarieux, Soumia, Elizio, and Nelson Freitas.

He produced big hits for other artists, like "Deeper" and "Rebound Chick" for Nelson Freitas. He also produced "Close your eyes" for Djodje, and "Ceu" and "Love again" for C4 Pedro.

Awards and Recognition

Kaysha was one of the first African artists to be nominated for an MTV Europe Award. This happened in 2005, for the "Best African Artist" category.

He has also won several Kora awards, which celebrate musical excellence in Africa.

  • In 2004 and 2005, he won "Best African Artist of the Diaspora." This award is for artists of African descent living outside Africa.
